Walpole 22/4/12

After a few days in Albany and a visit to the whaling station we headed west to Walpole.Set up camp at Rest Point and went to visit tree top walk ,an amazing structure towering over the ancient forest. The giant Tingle tree is 24m girth the largest living eucalypt known in the world!.^600m long walkway and 40m high. The structure swung when you walked along it and Val felt a bit queezy.
Went fishing right in front of camp on jetty and Kath caught a Bream.Saw 3 huge resident stingrays which hang around jetty and compete with pelicans for titbits from fish cleaning area.(photos to follow)

Easter in Cowell

We decided to spend Easter here because everywhere is so busy for the weekend.

A lovely little town, the start of the seafood trail and home to oyster farms and great fishing.Enjoyed some roast pork last night (see photo) Cycled into town to have seafood lunch at pub but it was shut so had snack at our mates fish hut on jetty.Very windy today. This place reminds us of Port Albert,a relief after Port Augusta and Whyalla.Locally caught Whiting for dinner (yum)

3/4/12 Morgan

Well we finally left Mildura and really enjoyed our stay there. We did lots of Ks on the scooter and even some on our pushies.Camping along the river was lovely.
Neil and Cath joined us Saturday and we spent a day looking around with them and headed off next morning.
Stopped in Renmark for coffee and drove through short storm to Morgan,an old paddlesteamer port on the Murray.Mor rain and lightning in evening dropped the temp by 10 degrees.
Heading off again this morning towards Port Augusta via Burra.
Cheers Gregg and Val
