Neil Finn was amazing and the lead ups were Gurrumul and Megan Washington

Margaret River (yes I know)

We have spent a week longer than planned here to go to the
Gourmet Escape weekend and of course the Neil Finn concert
2 nights ago. What an amazing talent he is,no backing band just him on guitar or grand piano. But he did have a local guy on steel guitar in the second half.
It was bedlam getting away from the concert so after a chat and coffee with the security staff we stayed the night in th carpark paddock.

Right   A little cottage at Ellensbrook  (a good freecamp nearby)

Below    Suset at Redgate

Margaret River Farmers Market is a great spot to stock up with fresh food ,coffee and buskers.
These 2 guys were chefs involved with the Gourmet Escape and cooked up a storm with ingredients they found at the market.

Below  A couple of guys out of  ten cent shooters who played at the Settlers Tavern in town later that day (this could be you and I Phil)

Redgate south of Margaret River 18/11/14

We finally left the sheep farm and moved on to Redgate, an unofficial freecamp on an amazing bit of coast.
We visited Lake Cave which had been closed because a huge Karri tree fell 2 days before and was just reopened.Luckily it just missed the walkway and no one was hurt. (below)

Abive - the deck at Lake Cave where they hold a lot of functions and weddings etc.
We visited Boranup Gallery to see some beautifully made furniture and art gallery.

There were lots of decorated cows because they recently had a cow parade in Margaret River ?

Bridgetown Blues Fest 10/11/14

Well its monday morning and we have just spent 3 days in Bridgetown for the annual Blues festival.10 different venues plus buskers and street markets, coffee stalls, food vendors and most shops open all weekend and some of the best bands in the country plus some from U.S.
The main street was closed off for 2 days and a $2 taxi bus would take you anywhere (which was good because its uphill everywhere)
Last night we went to the grand finale with 19-twenty from Jervis Bay,Hussy Hicks and Blue Shaddy finishing off a great weekend
We camped at the showgrounds with several hundred others.Hot showers and food available and the taxi bus to town centre made it a great place to be.
We plan to explore the surrounding towns today ,the rolling green hills remind us of Gippsland

A shiela on a V Rod I dont believe it
Our mate chookfoot from Freo played and busked all weekend

A guy was selling guitar box guitars but not as good as mine
Early morning at campsite,it didnt take long to warm up when the sun broke through
