Carnarvan 29/9/14

We finally left Warroora Stn after a week
Found this Thorny Devil on the side of the road.
We drove in to Carnarvan and stayed at the 1 mile jetty behind the caretakers shack (with their permission) Went fishing and crabbing the next day and what a haul we got.
2 good size Trevally and a bucket of blue swimmers and 2 muddies.

The 1 mile jetty is a great place to put in the crab nets.
The historical jetty built in 1897 to ship wool and sheep from the region.
We enjoyed our 2 day stay here with Steve and Debbie (the caretakers) and a few games of darts with Steve.
Heading off now to see Steves boat which he is restoring at the wharf.Photos to follow
Hoping all is well

Coral Bay day 2

Wow what a truly wonderful place to be surrounded by white sandy beaches and the blue, clear waters of Coral Bay.
We have enjoyed wonderful walks in the mornings on a beach  with rocks covered with tasty fresh oysters and waters filled with Reef sharks, turtles and stingrays.  It is a special place to snorkel in the wonders of the reef's abundant marine life. There are Dolphins, and other marine creatures, including Manta Rays.
We found this Spanish Dancer floating in a rock pool on our way to the Reef shark nursery, we were able to walk in the shallow water and view the sharks up close, there were around 80 or so sharks swimming close to us.
No visit to Coral Bay is complete without experiencing a coral viewing and fish feeding adventure on board the Glass Bottom Boat, Miss Coral Bay 3

Coral Bay revisited 17/9/14

After one night in Onslow and a roadside stop along the way we arrived in Coral Bay.

A beautiful story

 Still at Hearsons Cove
We found a stranded and struggling to survive turtle. It was not able to make its way to the water which was receeding rapidly  as the tide went out.
We carried him to deep water and held him until he regained his strength and slowly swam off, glancing back at us twice as if to give us a thank you.

Stairway to the moon

Hearsons Cove -more

Above another shell on the move. When the tide goes out you can walk out for about a km.

Our best shot of the stairway, very difficult with such low light and we did use a tripod.
Stop horsing around Val I know you playing with my hat
