Just North of Geraldton 1/6/12

We just stayed 3 nights on a lovely beach (14 mile beach ) just south of Coral Bay.
It was just like Gilligans Island without Ginger and Maryanne,but luckily we had Val,Rhonda and Helen.
We fished,swam,went sightseeing,ate,fished,swam,partied,and then fished and ate.
What a great spot a little known paradise.The road in is a bit rough but worth it.We lost our drain pipe on the way out (yes Rob I know you warned me.)
Met 2 lovely couples Rob and Rhonda from Sydney and Ian and Helen from Geraldton.
Weather was warm,water was cool but refreshing just a lovely spot and right on the beach

Oh Beckie has recovered from eating our fishing bait.(she was supposed to be chasing away the seagulls)

Cliff Head South 24/5/12

Still here in our lovely freecamp,still the only ones here except for our fisherman mates.They just headed out to reef to try their luck again and check their craypots (could be eating cray tonight)

The next bay around has a jetty where people were fishing and we saw a huge ray and a dolphin cruised past(photo) and yes another boring sunset.

Cliff Head Sth 23/5/12

Found a great freecamp 40k south of Port Denison .Just us and a shack full of fishermen from Perth (we spent many hours with them last night while they cleaned their catch of Dhufish shark and others)
Rode scooter into town (40k return) terrible wind nearly blowing us off the road.
Sorry about another sunset photo but they are getting better!
The Dhufish Val is holding weighed in at 12 kilo and the biggest was over 24!

The guys go out over 20ks to the reef in tinnies!

Jurian Bay 20/5/12

Stayed another night in this spectacular spot and will stay longer.Moved to a spot overlooking bay with amazing sunsets and fishing 10 metres from our door.Huge sandunes where you can sand board down almost to the water.Met 2 young Poms who tried the boarding and one broke his collarbone and is off to hospital today.They camped next to us last night and shared dinner and breakfast with us.We may catch up with them again.

18/5/12 Jurian Bay

Went to Western Rock Lobster processing plant in Cervanties where they process and send live crays all over the world.The cooked crays are steamed not boiled.
Staying tonight in camp on beach at Sandy Cape Recreation Park sensational place.

Cervantes 18/5/12

Stayed 2 days in Swan Valley and visited several wineries a brewery and a delicious chocolatry.
Drove across to Cervantes and watched an amazing sunset couldnt find freecamp so went to caravan park and office was closed so camped in there next to Hippy vans .Drove out early this morning and office still closed.Will send them an iou.

Perth 15/5/12

Still in Perth taking in all the sights.John and Marg have been showing us their favorite spots.We went to the Aviation Museum with a huge collection of WW1 and WW2 planes including the mighty Lancaster bomber which Dad worked on during the war.

Heading off to Swan Valley tomorrow for a few days and do a winery tour on the pushys.

Perth 13/5/12

Staying with John and Marg Siinmaa (old dive friends from 20 years ago) And have been seeing the sights of Freo and Perth.
Went on a 30k ride to city and back yesterday and had coffee by the Swan River and went out to Perth last night by train with John and Marg to Mustang bar to watch a great band and dined in a Greek restaurant and back to bar again and finally got home at some stage.
Went to Maritime Museum today and saw remains of Batavia a Dutch ship which ran aground of W.A in 1629.
Parts of the hull were still intact and are on show in Museum.Also lots of artifacts on display.

New Norcia 10/5/12

Slowly headed back from Kalgoorlie stayed in camp just off highway met some lovely people from Mt Gambier and then on to Kokerbin Rock where we stayed and climbed in early morning sun and not a breath of wind (about an hour return trip) The summit was over 300 m.
Then back to York to revisit the Motor Museum only to find it closed and will be moving to Albany !

Arrived late in New Norcia.A special place with 1860 Monastry,Convent,and many old churches and Orphanage

Kalgoorlie 6/5/12

Yes back in Kal for 2 nights.Visited Superpit lookout (again)for spectacular view of largest gold mine in Oz.

Went to museum which had a really good photo exhibition.Dining out tonight at balcony restaurant overlooking main st.Tomorrow no plans yet. Other photo is floor of Metropole pub looking down mine shaft.

Kambalda/Lake Lefroy 5/5/12

Drove down to lake yesterday (about 40 ks ) to where they race the land yachts (none were there )
and this morning saw sunrise over saltlake.
Dined in camp caffeteria last night (the camp is set up for miners with amazing facilities ) $15 for a 3 course meal.and lunch for the next day!

Heading back to Kalgoorlie this morning to look at Super Pit open cut gold mine.

Spending another night here to try to catch sunrise over salt lakes.(raining this morning)

Kalgoorlie 3/5/12

2 days drive to Kalgoorlie following pipeline.stayed about halfway beside road in freecamp.
Kalgoorlie is a large town of about 28000.We are staying 60 ks south at Kambalda near an incredible salt lake
where land sailing is very popular.

Fremantle 2/5/12

We finally made it to Perth and caught up with Greg and Sandy,Dirk Denham,Bridey and kids.
Went to Rottnest Island testerday and rode over 20 ks around and went up lighthouse and toured gun site and tunnels.What a great day and topped it off with dining out at lovely Italian Restaurant and freecamped in carpark at Docks Lots of people fishing for huge Mulloway (photo)
Heading towards Kalgoorlie.Stopped for lunch in York and visited amazing Motor Museum.

Stopped for night in Burracoppin (freecamping again)
